Hi Stirling, Doc here, you need to get the best locally available unit from the best Quality Source. The PROBLEM with a lifetime warranty is that the people who do the work are many times NOT QUALITY Conscious and the warranty for the unit that goes bad doesn't help your aggrivation/fustration level when is quits again for the second, or third time.
So the best unit to get is the Nissan Factory Remanufactured one from
your local Nissan/Datsun Dealer in my experience for more than 30 years
in the automotive field. Factory Hitachi alternators are great units and
have a good warranty too. The price is possibly slightly more, but the
QUALITY will be the blessing to you!
I hope that this helps you..........

Hi Doc,
I think my alternator is going out on my 88 300. My battery light comes
on and my meter does not show that the alternator is charging. I have checked
with NAPA Auto Parts, and they have an alternator for $120.00 with a 2yr
warranty and one for 150.00 with a Lifetime warranty. I then called Kreagen's
Auto Parts and the have one for $104.00 with a lifetime warranty.
My question is, is there a difference in these parts? Or does it matter?
Looking forward to your response
Stirling.
