Doc,

This is Harry who you responded to on the Z Forum concerning losing
electrical power to my fuel injectors. I found the problem in the
connector of the throttle switch, moisture and corrosion. With your
response you made me start looking in the right area. At the connector
for the computer, electrically everything looked right but I think the
moisture, when it was running, made the computer think the contacts for
deceleration were closed.

A little something about my Z: Purchased 1979 280ZX in 1981. The car
went through a bankruptcy and the first thing I had to purchase was
tires. They had dry rotted. The only times I've put the car in the
shop was for the 30,000 mile tuneup and had the front end rebuilt at
about 190,000 miles. The car now has 237,000 miles and as I tell my
friends it's still under warranty, if it breaks I'll fix it.
This is the
first repair that stumped me. In 1991 I repainted my Z, the clear
coat over the Black was peeling off, that took me a year and a week!
The only other major repairs were replacing the injectors; they started
leaking fuel, and replacing the transmission twice. In the first
transmission, the front main bearing wore out; the second I could feel
the bearing losing up and replaced it before it went out.

Thanks again very much for your support.
Harry
