So are you ready for some "High Speed Meditation"? Recently there has been interest expressed by a number of ZONC members concerning "track days", "auto cross", etc .. I was asked if I would assist in providing some information to make ZONC members aware of upcoming events for this. My plan is to provide information and details for upcoming events that offer an opportunity for ZONC member participation, these will be added to the ZONC calendar. Additionally I will share some past "lessons learned" to help you understand what to do in preparation for a "track / auto cross event" and also what to expect one you arrive. Bear in mind that there may be some variation from group to group so I will generalize and you will need to review the rules, etc .. for events you plan to do prior to signing up.
June 28 (Tuesday) - Club Z hosted a track day at Thunderhill Raceway Park (Willows, CA). This was another successful event for Club Z and provided lots of track time for the participants, certainly a much better way to spend a Tuesday than being at work. The event was followed with a nice dinner at the track. Be sure to check Club Z's website (www.clubz.org) for information on upcoming events.
July 14th thru 17th - The 2005 All Datsun Meet took place, starting with a track day on the 3 mile racetrack at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, CA. The event is run as a High Performance Driving Event; instructors were available to support first time drivers or others who desired some one-on-one instruction. Thunderhill Raceway is a 3 mile road course which has a variety of turns, elevations changes, front and back stratights which make it an enjoyable track to drive. There were 80+ various Datsun(s)/Nissan(s) which included 510's, roadsters and Z's. The weather was very hot (105+ degrees) but in spite of this .. a good time was had by all, thanks to the efforts of Peggy and Dennis Hale and their staff.

July 27 and Aug 24 - (Wed) - Z Car Garage (ZCG) monthly Wednesday night drag racing event at Infineon Raceway, updated event information and standings for this event can be found at ZCG's website (http://www.zcargarage.com/events.htm).

Sept 17 and 18 (Sat/Sun) - Green Flag will hold a track event at Thunderhill Raceway Park. Green Flag conducts a well organized event with an emphasis on safety and fun.
