Would you believe that this beauty was Steve's "daily driver" throughout the 80s? Since that time, its become his "fun & games" car. Car shows, autocrosses and club racing. Make no mistake ... as sweet as she looks, this IS NOT a trailer queen. Steve drive's his Z to / from the events. Steve reported a few mishaps including a rear-ender and a racoon? (You'll have to ask him about the raccoon). Summarized descriptions of Steve's "enhancements" follows:
SPEED: JET 2.8L square port engine; Triple Webber carbs; Cannon manifold; Bob Sharp Racing Header (since replaced); Motorsport Ceramic Coated Header (current setup); Custom adjustable exhaust featuring: Borla XR1 Bullet muffler (resonator), 2 1/2 inch pipe to Borla XR1 Turbo muffler with (3) three bolt flanges to allow outlet diameter and tip changes as needed. Steve runs OEM 4-speed w/Centerforce II clutch.
STOP: Cross drilled rotors w/(4) four piston calipers up front; SS braided lines (F/R) and racing pads.
SUSPENSION: Early 80's racing set-up, Contour springs and swaybars (F/R); KYB struts (F/R); Urethane bushings (F/R); Shock tower braces (F/R); 4-Pt Roll Bar and Camber kit.
STYLE: Re-painted red w/black stripe; airdam; 3-pc rear spoiler (molded in); and both clear/painted (body color) headlight covers.
